Lori McKenna, CPDT
Owner and Instructor
Lori is a 1986 graduate of and
former trainer with Matthew Margolis' National Institute of Dog Training,
and the author of Everyday Dog Training. She is a certified trainer, and a
professional-level member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
Lori's education and
experience in canine behavior and her love of working with dogs has led her
to develop the Everyday Manners program, which helps to provide a common
language between dogs and their owners. This process of increasing the bond
between owners and dogs has saved many dogs from a sad, lonely life tied to
a tree in the yard.
Lori shares her home with four
dogs:
- Josie, a Jack Russell Terrier
- Ellie, an Australian Cattle Dog
- Griz, an adopted Bouvier des
Flandres (pictured with Lori, right, above), and
- Lindy, a Belgian Tervuren
(pictured right).
All four of the dogs play at
agility, although Ellie is the only one who actually competes. Lindy
and Griz have turned out to be dancin’ dogs, and both compete in Canine Musical Freestyle.

Ty Wakefield-McKenna
(1990-2002)
He
brought sunshine where there had once been snow,
moonlight to chase away the darkness.
He gave to us gifts of love, and laughter, and joy,
and asked nothing in return.
We loved him.
His
journey through our lives was all too brief,
and it hurt us when he left.
But we are better, somehow, for having shared our lives with him.
You
are missed every day, my friend.
