The Everyday Dog Series

Puppy Preschool in Enumclaw

Learning can be fun and effective when you start your puppy off in Custom Pets’ Puppy Preschool! Foundation behaviors are taught and puppy problems are addressed using dog-friendly methods that are enjoyable for the dog and the family. This four-session class is open to puppies up to 20 weeks old and their families. Cost of the class is $60 per dog, and class is limited to 4 puppies. Contact Lori to register.

Everyday Training

Private In-home sessions in Enumclaw / Buckley / Bonney Lake / Auburn Area*

· Single 1-hour visit: $65 in your home

· Single 2-hour visit: $95 in your home

· Everyday Puppy Workshop (Single 90-minute session): $75 in your home

· Everyday Manners Package (Three 1-hour sessions): $150 in your home

You and your family will work privately with a professional dog trainer to learn how to train your dog and how to deal with minor behavior issues.

The Everyday Puppy Workshop is for dogs 5 months old and younger. We will cover puppy problem solving such as chewing, mouthing, and potty training, and will introduce puppy-appropriate versions of paying attention, coming when called, and walking politely on leash.

In the Everyday Manners Package, we will cover basic manners: pay attention, polite greeting behavior, come when called, walk on leash, wait at doorways, and other behaviors that make your dog a great household companion.

Training Walks on the Plateau

Polite walking on leash will be taught in a real-life situation – on an actual walk! We will cover Loose Leash Walking, Coming When Called, Attention to Handler, and Leave It. The cost for this 90-minute session is $75.

Behavior Modification

Behavior Modification Program

A Behavior Modification Program is useful for more serious problems such as aggression, resource guarding, fighting household dogs, separation anxiety, and reactive or fearful dogs.

This program begins with a 2-hour visit as noted above, and continues with subsequent 1-hour sessions as needed. Prior to the first visit, you will be asked to fill out and return a Behavior History Form so that a treatment plan can be formulated.

Fear Issues Program

A special 2-visit program is available for reactive or fearful dogs. It consists of an initial 90-minute session, followed by a second 60-minute visit 1 to 3 weeks later. Prior to the first visit, you will be asked to fill out and return a Behavior History Form so that a treatment plan can be formulated. Cost for this 2-session program is $125, payable on or before the first visit.

The private workshops are programs that deal with some common dog behavior issues and special interest activities.

Chill Out! Teach Your Dog Self Control
one 90-minute session - $75

Learn how to teach your dog to control himself in exciting situations. The workshop covers getting (and keeping!) your dog's attention, proper greeting behavior, management, and how to settle down on cue. Also includes simple management techniques for immediate control.

Kids 'n Dogs
one 90-minute session - $75

Learn how to teach your dog and your children to play happily and safely together. The workshop includes teaching appropriate play, managing child/dog interaction, granting your child leadership status in the 'pack', and safety issues.

Introduction to Canine Musical Freestyle
one 90-minute session - $75

You've seen it on Pet Star, you've read about it in local newspapers and national magazines. What is Canine Musical Freestyle all about?

Freestyle is the newest canine sport, and is rapidly gaining world-wide popularity. It is obedience and tricks set to music, and often called Dancing With Your Dog, but don't let that scare you! Dancing ability is not a requirement for you or your dog. This sport highlights the dog/human partnership - it teaches dogs to respond to cues even in a highly distracting environment, and owners learn advanced training techniques that can be applied to any behavior.
